We Go Way... Way Back...
Our journey began with 6 members back in December 1846 where we first
met at an old schoolhouse in Daviess County (14 years before Abraham
Lincoln became president.) First named, “The United Baptist Church at
Brushy Fork Creek” we became “Brushy Fork Baptist Church” in 1855 after
relocating to a different schoolhouse near “Brushy Fork Creek.”

Through The Years
The body at Brushy Fork Baptist has lived through an array of dark
moments in human history including the Civil War, WWI, WWII, and the Great Depression. By God’s grace alone we have persevered. We have come a long way from meeting in an old schoolhouse 175 years ago. Today, we have a dedicated worship center, separate ministry and activities facility and a church body eager to go where the LORD sends.

Looking Ahead...
Scripture states in Proverbs 29:18, “Where there is no vision, the people
perish.” We at BFBC certainly have a vision, but it’s not so much in building
bigger facilities and becoming the next mega-church. Our vision is simply to
become a body of believers who become increasingly more faithful to
serving the Lord and so deeply connected to each other that when the lost
see us, they are compelled to believe the gospel.
At BFBC, we strive to remain culturally relevant to both current and future
generations while holding tightly to sound doctrine.
